Calisto100.com is a new kind of dating site. Instead of a paid site where anyone can signup, Calisto100 is offering a service where you fill out an application, and wait to get approved before you are listed in the top 100 for an area.
Calisto100 describes itself as:
an exclusive dating site that features a list of the top 100 singles in your city: your social filter for quality people. Through the creation of its quality-based social filter, Calisto100 offers young professional singles a platform where they can stand out and gain accessibility across the web.
It’s definitely an interesting idea, and sounds like a step in the right direction, but I think it may open itself up to bias reviews of potential applicants, and some people may find that they are rejected on subjective factors.
Calisto100 is all about quality, and we definitely are aware of the subjective nature of online dating. However, we strongly believe there is a market for a social-filter which weeds out the singles lacking the core values which most singles in america are searching for.
It is not easy, but with the growth of free, non-filtered dating sites on the web, quality has been left in the dust. Calisto100 offers a place for singles looking for something real and most importantly with something real to offer.

Hey, it’s great to hear from a representative of the company.
I completely agree with you about the quality of many of the free, non-filtered dating sites, that the quality is secondary to the purpose of why people go there for. I’m sure many people are looking for a better solution, and what your company is offering sounds like a step in the right direction. I’m curious to see how it will play out.
Though I still stand by some of my concerns from the perspective of those who may be potential customers of your website, and am curious to see what the criteria will be the identify quality people to be listed in the top 100.
I think over time you may see the need to make adjustments to your system, because you do have metropolitian areas that may have well over a 100 people who may all be great candidates of quality personals, and you may find yourself in a situation to expand the amount to more than 100. I think you may even find that you may need to add different age demographics for those larger cities who have that dynamic range of people such as older adults 40+ who are back on the dating scene who would benefit from a site like yours.
